Google Changes Its Privacy Settings Now Tracking You Everywhere

If you haven’t heard by now and you probably haven’t .. Google has made some pretty dramatic changes to their product privacy notice.

Alma Whitten, Google’s director of privacy, product and engineering says…

“In short, we’ll treat you as a single user across all our products which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience,”

Now you have to take this with a little forethought … ALL OF THEIR PRODUCTS…

This means if you login to Gmail then surf Google’s news listings then jump over to youtube… then use google+ they will track your use…

If you watch a video about making pizza you will now see pizza advertising when you go to other sites… not just Google’s sites but any site that uses Google Advertising.

If you visit a site about hamsters that has google advertising  you will see hamster videos when you go to Google’s YouTube…

It is going to get really big brother and it will cause a lot of people to turn off Google Advertising by blocking adsense.

That will mean content publishers may have to look for other options to earn revenue.

Personally I run over 14 content sites of various types of content.. this site is technical content but I have sites of a variety of different content types…

In recent months I have noticed many more people who block advertising and this means I don’t have time to devote to that content type … I must devote my time to where I am earning money.

This is true for everyone.

If there is backlash from this .. content developers are the ones that will be screwed.

But eventually it will mean more paid content sites … sites that require membership. And then the user or visitor will get screwed.
