Microsoft Trashes The Constitution & Wants Government Tax On Internet To Pay For Killing BotNets

Microsoft who seemingly just got away with infiltrating a number of private computer networks and shutting off internet access to computers they deemed to be infected is now trying to make all of us pay for it through a Government tax on Internet Access.

Microsoft Corporate Vice President Scott Charney said at a recent tech conference that the technology industry needs to think about more “social solutions” in the approach to internet security “I actually think the health care model … might be an interesting way to think about the problem,”

Basically what he is saying is his company should have the right and be funded by the Government to perform the work of clearing botnets.

Sounds like a job where proof is very limited and expenses are exorbitant…

This is not how the Internet is suppose to work and it is definitely a breach of  privacy, consumer and constitutional rights when a private company can use their power to shut down computers without a warrant or finding of guilt.

Think about this….

Every time you want to read a webpage, send mail, chat with a friend or use another internet protocol you are traversing between 5 and 30 different PRIVATE computer networks…

Do this test.

Goto Start … Go to Run and type in CMD to bring up a dos / terminal window…

Now type in this command: tracert www.youtube.com

You will see all of the different network routers and connections between you and YouTube.com. Try a few different websites that you visit every day… on average there will be about 10 different networks which are easily picked out…

Each one of these networks has a Privacy Policy to not sniff the data that you send through their network … BUT they could easily pickup so much private information about you that it would amaze you.

To stop internet attacks you have to identify the attacker.. then once you do you can employ a boarder router setup to stop the packets from that attacking network. If the hacker is smart they will use a variety of tactics to get around this but still there are ways to reduce your damage and trace back to the problem computer.

Once you do find an attacker you will just as likely find that they are located outside the USA as much as inside the USA..

AT THIS POINT and this is important…

YOU MUST GET PERMISSION from the attacker host network owner to infiltrate their network and scan computers. This means judges need to issue warrants if you do not have an agreement between you and the offender’s network to perform the work.

Even if you do you are entering some serious sticky shit once you leave the territory of the USA and enter a network outside of our Federal Boundary….

This will get you up to the connection of the computer to the internet but once you enter into a Private Computer YOU MUST HAVE A WARRANT…

Microsoft can not enter into your computer if you have a reasonable belief you are private in your own home… they can not do it just like a police agency can not do it ….

AND MOST OF ALL FEDERAL DOLLARS CAN NOT BE SPENT TO HIRE ANYONE ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT TO DO THIS….

This is so crazy … I do not know why Microsoft was not stopped by the Feds last week when they did it.. I don’t know why other governments are not defending themselves against this warrantless intrusion..

Don’t get me wrong I am against BotNets that are setup to do harm… but the next thing will be Microsoft using this new found backdoor to stop P2P networks or maybe Comcast will shutdown Vonage VOIP services on the Comcast network…

This is way too deep to get into one post and there are people out there who are more informed about this subject and the details…

But prima facie … This is an end run around the constitution and just simply something that needs to end before it gets started…

Microsoft is seriously going to FUCK THEMSELVES on this … just like Lily Allen did when she announced she wanted to stop P2P file sharing of Music… and look where she is now… she is ending her career on March 7th and opening a Used Clothing store with her sister…

This shit is deep… and it effects all of us.. even people who do not use the internet but have companies that they contract with who do….

NO FUCKING WAY…
It is not ok to enter a Network or Computer without a Warrant .. either to gain access for criminal prosecution or to do it for commercial reasons.

Microsoft should be held to the same laws as the Criminal BotNet organizations that get into our computers and face serious prosecution and jail time if found guilty.

RIGHT NOW people have not realized just how messed up what happened last week was.. but once it hits the fan it is going to be really interesting.

My advice is that Microsoft Corporate Vice President Scott Charney get himself a basement office in an obscure building located some place in an untraveled area of Wyoming and SHUT THE FUCK UP before people understand what just happened.
